5 Dating Profile Red Flags That Scream “AI Wrote This”

There’s a very specific kind of dating profile that makes you stop mid-scroll and think: “A human person absolutely did not write this.”

We regret to inform you that AI has entered the dating chat.

Now listen, we’re not anti-AI over here. A little help tightening up grammar? Fabulous. Fixing your typo-riddled bio before unleashing it on the public? Necessary. But somewhere along the line, people started letting ChatGPT fully take the wheel and the results are… unsettling.

Here are 5 dating profile red flags that practically scream “AI wrote this.”

1. “I’m equally comfortable on a mountain trail or at a black tie event.”
Sir. Be serious.
AI LOVES vague “I contain multitudes” statements that sound polished but reveal absolutely nothing about you. Tell us what you actually do on weekends.

2. “Fluent in sarcasm.”
Retire it. Immediately.
At this point, AI thinks every attractive person spends their free time enjoying tacos, adventure, and sarcasm. If your profile sounds like it was assembled from 10,000 dating app clichés in a blender, people notice.

3. Suspiciously perfect punctuation and corporate wording.
Nobody on a dating app should sound like they’re drafting a quarterly earnings report. If your bio says things like “seeking a meaningful connection with a like-minded individual,” the robots may have overstepped.

4. Every answer somehow says nothing.
AI-generated profiles often sound polished… but weirdly empty. You’ve read 200 words and still don’t know if this person likes dogs, clubs, camping, or human interaction.

5. The photo looks AI-generated too.
If your skin has the texture of a glazed donut and your jawline could cut glass, people are going to assume you either used AI or are secretly a video game character. Touch up lighting? Sure. Turn yourself into a futuristic Ken doll? Maybe don’t.

Here’s the thing: authenticity is still attractive. The best profiles sound like an actual person wrote them. Slightly imperfect > deeply robotic.

So yes, use AI to proofread your spelling. Let it help you punch up a sentence or two. But don’t completely outsource your personality to the machines.
