We can thank the internet for two years of absolutely fantastic new dating terms that cover everything from pandemic dating to showing mega PDA. This new phrase though, might take the cake: DOPPLEBANGING – aka sleeping with someone who kinda looks like you.

Couples formed of duos that look alike aren’t alone — they’ve actually become the epitome of a newly coined dating term: “doppelbangers.”

A play on doppelganger, the German word for a nearly identical look-alike, the Daily Mail observed the trendy phenomenon of doppelbangers among celebrity couples who have uncanny mirroring features. The term originated in the LGBTQ community, Cosmopolitan reported.

Oscar nominee Kristen Stewart and fiancée Dylan Meyer are a shining example of doppelbangers as their blond hair and shapely bodies are a nearly exact match.

Meanwhile other A-list couples, like blue-eyed buds Courteney Cox and Snow Patrol member Johnny McDaid, in addition to Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter, along with Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, also share doppelbanging criteria, sharing similar body types and facial features, according to the Mail.

Man, that is a good one – and seriously, Kristen and her wife-to-be really could be twins.
