HA! I GOT YOU TOO!

I wish that hackers did this more often… silly April Fools-like pranks that make gullible people e-mail and Tweet each other incessantly until they realize they’ve been tricked. You know, instead of like, breaking into my college’s database and stealing my social security number to order porn off the internet. Or creating fake dating profiles which I then have to go in and refund which takes FO-F***ING-EVER.

According to The Huffington Post, the hackers over at The Lulz Boat skillfully changed the PBS homepage into an article claiming that Tupac and Biggie Smalls were still alive, “in a small resort in New Zealand.” PBS staff member Teresa Gorman spent much of her Sunday holiday taking to Twitter to explain the hack and promise that no, Tupac is NOT alive in New Zealand. Hilarious! Good job Lulz Boat!

(However, to prove they were behind it, Lulz Boat posted the information and passwords for many PBS Staffers on Twitter, which is a big no-no and totally not okay. Bad Lulz Boat! BAD!)

The story make be a scam, but we’re still holding out hope that somewhere, far away on a tropical island in the middle of the ocean, Tupac is sipping a Piña Colada on the beach and Biggie is learning how to surf. Maybe only in my dreams…
