\nI don’t know about you, but when I’m in a car and someone else is driving and they’re going really fast – like, too fast – I feel like I should text my mother that I love her because the end might be near. Cars are so dangerous! Even my crappy old POS Escort is two tons of steel and metal bars and hot machinery that could UNDOUBTEDLY kill me if I made the slightest wrong move on the freeway. So imagine the inherent danger in driving a couple hundred miles an hour around a track with 30 other cars that are all trying to pass you… it’s about as risky a sport as one could imagine.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, two-time Indy winner Dan Wheldon, the risks proved too much during an IndyCar race in Las Vegas yesterday. According to The Huffington Post, a horrific 15 car crash occurred just a few laps into the race, causing fires, flipped cars, and airborne vehicles. Wheldon’s car flew into the catch fence and burst into flames, and two hours after the accident, the British driver was reported dead. He leaves behind a wife and two children. <\/p>\n
