Coming on the heels of yesterday’s overwhelming list of celebrity marriages that deteriorated this past year<\/a>, rumors are surfacing that Katy Perry and Russell Brand may also be on the verge of a split. According to Us Magazine,<\/a> the couple spent Christmas about as far away from each other as physically possible – her in Hawaii and he back in England, and neither were wearing their wedding ring. Katy’s excuse may have been that she was swimming in the ocean, but there was little reason for Russell to be ringless while hanging out with a friend on dry land. Furthermore, sources have claimed that a huge blowout before Christmas may be the reason the couple is on their way to Splitsville:<\/p>\n

“They had a massive fight,” an insider tells\u00a0Us Weekly<\/strong>. “She was like, ‘F–k you. I’m going to do my own thing.’ Russell replied, ‘Fine, f–k you too.'”<\/p>\n

Though the pair denied divorce rumors in November, sources say trouble is brewing. “They haven’t split up just yet, but things are not good,” says the first source. “The fighting is getting worse.”<\/p>\n

At issue? Among other things, explains another source: “Katy doesn’t think Russell respects her parents’ Christian beliefs or her friends.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

YIKES. <\/em>Christian beliefs AND friends? Those are two issues that should probably be discussed prior to a marriage, one would think. Although then again, the celebrity marriage world isn’t the most logical based on its past. This may not be the last celebrity divorce of 2011, but it may in fact be the first of 2012.
