\nI admit, when I first read this headline<\/a> about Bill Bellamy, I thought at first, “wait, why would I thank the head coach of the New England Patriots<\/a> for booty calls? And then I thought, no wait, that’s not right. Why would I thank the lead singer of Muse<\/a> for booty calls? Then I actually scrolled and saw that it was neither a guy who perpetually wears cut off sweatshirts nor a scrawny Brit, but the sexy and funny stand up comedian who not only starred in one of my fave movies, Any Given Sunday<\/i>, but is credited as being the first person to use the phrase “booty call”… EVER!<\/p>\n

The comedian claims that with the help of his friend Mike Tyson, he came up with the phrase we all know and hold dear, which eventually became the title of a movie starring Jamie Foxx, as well as the name of your very favorite dating site of all time<\/a>. Watch:<\/p>\n

So this weekend as you’re browsing your contacts for a sexy single to beckon over for a late-night tryst, say a little mental thank you to Bill Bellamy. Without him, we might be calling booty calls “midnight specials,” or “Sheets, Party of Two,” or “SHAGanigans.”<\/p>\n
