Good morning! It’s December 4th, which according to every retail store in the contiguous United States means you MUST PLAY CHRISTMAS MUSIC ALL THE TIME ALWAYS NO EXCUSES. I made the mistake of going to a Marshall’s this weekend (don’t judge, mama needed a new grill pan), and it was like the GD Christmas apocalypse exploded inside. Fake snow! Window painting! Faux Christmas Trees everywhere! One menorah tucked in a corner to placate the Jews but not offend the Christians! And of course, SO MUCH CHRISTMAS MUSIC YOU NEVER WANTED TO HEAR FROM NINETIES MUSIC STARS. N*Sync! Backstreet Boys! Jessica Simpson! Mariah Carey (I admit I loved her Christmas album)! And of course the worst, SMASHMOUTH.<\/a><\/p>\n

Don’t get me wrong, I like some Christmas music. Give me a little Vince Guaraldi’s Charlie Brown Christmas album and I will play it on repeat until someone snaps the CD in half and holds it against my chest threatening murder. However, most contemporary musician’s attempts at holiday music are just barf-inducing. <\/p>\n
