According to the Daily Mail<\/a>, a woman (who has requested anonymity to protect her privacy) has been diagnosed with a rare disease called “seminal plasma hypersensitivity, an allergic reaction to the proteins in her husband Jeff’s semen.” <\/p>\n The couple waited until marriage to have sex, and realized soon after that they wouldn’t be having much sex anymore, either. <\/p>\n “‘I had this bizarre reaction,’ Clara (not real name) told ABC, ‘I had burning and swelling and redness, which was very unusual. I thought I had contracted an STD.'”<\/p>\n Her doctors determined that she was in fact allergic to her husband’s semen, and let her know that until it was taken care of, they would be unable to have sex – not even with a condom. So the newlyweds became abstinent – for almost 10 months. <\/p>\n 10 months. <\/p>\n Right after getting married.<\/i><\/p>\n THAT is my personal hell.<\/p>\n Luckily, medical technology has discovered a way to fix the allergy, by isolating the protein in the semen that the woman is allergic to, and then desensitizing her to it:<\/p>\n “Just two weeks ago, Clara underwent this intravaginal ‘graded challenge’ using dilutions of her husband’s seminal fluid which were injected every 15-20 minutes over the course of two to three hours. While we have to give props to the doctors and scientists who discovered a way to solve what could be a life-ruining situation, we still think “seminal plasma hypersensitivity” is a good reason to have sex BEFORE making the big jump.
