We&#8217;re pretty excited for this work week to be over, especially because it&#8217;s 80 degrees and sunny in San Diego (sorry, everywhere else in the country) and the beach is calling our names. However, we suddenly feel like something is missing from our weekend &#8211; specifically that we don&#8217;t have something roaming the streets called THE HOOK UP TRUCK.<\/p>\n<p>San Francisco does, though. Via <a href=\"http:\/\/sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com\/2014\/05\/01\/hook-up-truck-hits-the-street-offering-haven-for-casual-safe-sex\/\" target=\"_blank\">CBS Local:<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00a0The Hook-Up truck \u2013 a conceptual \u201cart\u201d installation consisting of a box truck converted to a sex suite on wheels, including temperature controls, birth control, safe sex accouterments, and a camera option, in case you and yours decide to make the escapade a YouTube sensation, is finally open for service the weekend of May 2nd and 3rd.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Created by artist Spy Emerson, The Hook Up truck will be treated like a mobile hotel room, and will be available for short-term rentals through out the weekend&#8230; sort of like a middle-class version of <a title=\"Charter a Plane to Have Sex In\" href=\"https:\/\/www.onlinebootycall.com\/blog\/charter-a-plane-to-have-sex-in\/\">that booty plane<\/a>.\u00a0As Emerson describes it, The Hook Up truck is &#8220;a game for adults who want to play with sex.&#8221; Sounds like fun&#8230; I think?<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not sure how I feel about getting NAKED in the back of a BOX TRUCK driven by STRANGERS (strangers who look like that photo above, btw), but we imagine there will be some San Franciscans and Oakland&#8230;ites(?) getting down and dirty this weekend when it pops up in the Mission District and Uptown Oakland.
