We singles in the US might think we are the most adventurous people ever in bed, but according to a study by Durex, we’re probably overestimating your skills. Less than 50% of the people in the US they surveyed said “eh, not THAT great.”<\/p>\n

Curious about\u00a0sex lives<\/strong>\u00a0across the world for obvious reasons,\u00a0Durex<\/strong>\u00a0decided to invade bedrooms and conduct studies to determine what kind of sex people are having.<\/p>\n

According to data from their 2007-2008\u00a0Sexual Wellbeing Survey<\/strong>\u00a0and 2012\u00a0Face of Global Sex\u00a0<\/strong>survey,\u00a0residents of Nigeria and Mexico have the most exciting sex lives<\/strong>. A lot of the satisfaction in Mexico came from the discovery that (gasp!) people tend to enoy their sex lives more when they feel respected. Mexico also topped that list.<\/p>\n

At the opposite end of the spectrum are folks in\u00a0Japan<\/strong>, who are miserable because their sex lives are, as well.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Although Nigeria and Mexico seem kinda random, and we can’t really picture couples buying sex swings and bondage tools, the idea that the Japanese have miserable sex lives makes sense, especially since we’ve seen Japanese porn and that shit is CRAZY – how could anyone recreate that in real life unless they had a sexually active octopus on hand? Talk about porn ruining our expectations of sex<\/a>!<\/p>\n

Actually though, that’s not the main reason Japan is a country full of sexually unsatisfied, miserable people. It’s because they’re straight up not having enough sex! And why? MOTHER EFFING WORK:<\/p>\n

For years, Japan reported some of the longest average working hours in the world. In and of itself, this makes sex less likely. Veteran Japan reporter Michael Zielenziger says working hours have made “physical contact” between spouses “so infrequent that some of Japan’s leading homebuilders now report that more than one in three custom homes is built with separate bedrooms for husband and wife.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
