Yikes, talk about a SMEAR piece – after reporting in 2019 that Kylie Jenner was the world’s youngest billionaire, Forbes recently released an article claiming that most of Kylie’s reporting worth is a straight up bold-faced lie. Saying that she fabricated much of her business’s success, including potentially showing them falsified tax returns!<\/p>\n

But in the deal\u2019s fine print, a less flattering truth emerged. Filings released by publicly traded Coty over the past six months lay bare one of the family\u2019s best-kept secrets: Kylie\u2019s business is significantly smaller, and less profitable, than the family has spent years leading the cosmetics industry and media outlets, including\u00a0Forbes<\/em>, to believe.<\/p>\n

Of course, white lies, omissions and outright fabrications are to be expected from the family that perfected\u2014then monetized\u2014the concept of \u201cfamous for being famous.\u201d The unusual lengths to which the Jenners have been willing to go\u2014including inviting\u00a0Forbes\u00a0<\/em>into their mansions and CPA\u2019s offices, and even creating tax returns that were likely forged\u2014reveals just how desperate some of the ultra-rich are to look even richer.<\/p>\n

Based on this new information\u2014plus the impact of Covid-19 on beauty stocks and consumer spending\u2014Forbes<\/em>\u00a0now thinks that Kylie Jenner, even after pocketing an estimated $340 million after taxes from the sale, is not a billionaire.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Daaaamn. Now, in case you thought that Kylie Jenner and the rest of the Kardashian Klan were gonna let this fly, you’re WRONG. The family’s spokesman came forward saying:<\/p>\n

Editor<\/em>\u2019s\u00a0note, June 1, 2020:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Following publication of this story, representatives of Kylie and Kris Jenner sent a letter to\u00a0Forbes<\/em>\u00a0denying that Kylie has lied or that the tax returns the Jenners sent us contained false numbers. \u201cThe accusations that the Jenners, and\/or their accountants, falsified tax returns and then lied about their 2016 revenues for the last four years, are absolutely false,\u201d the letter reads, in part.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So, how much is Kylie actually worth? Is she about to need to get a second job atMickey D’s to pay the mortgage? We doubt it:<\/p>\n

Taking all this new information into account and factoring in the pandemic,\u00a0<\/strong>Forbes\u00a0<\/em>has recalculated Kylie\u2019s net worth and concluded that she is not a billionaire. A more realistic accounting of her personal fortune puts it at just under $900 million, despite the headlines surrounding the Coty deal that seemed to confirm her billionaire status.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
