Between a highly contentious election and a global pandemic, we wouldn&#8217;t be suprised if little other scientific research was done aside from the causes and consequences of a virus that&#8217;s taken nearly 2 million lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But luckily researchers be researching, and according to this article, have learned quite a bit about on our favorite favorite things &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/2020-sex-research-studies\">sex. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>The pandemic affected peoples&#8217; sex lives in different ways<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;One study published in the\u00a0<em>Journal of Sexual Medicine<\/em>\u00a0in May found that since the pandemic kicked off, 60% of British adults reported\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/60-of-adults-in-lockdown-arent-having-sex-including-masturbation\">not having sex or even masturbating<\/a>\u00a0at least weekly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But another study published in the\u00a0<em>International Journal of Gynecology &amp; Obstetrics<\/em>\u00a0found women were actually having\u00a0<em>more<\/em>\u00a0sex\u2014and generally felt more sexual desire\u2014in the early months of the pandemic.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. You can smell when a woman is aroused. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Apparently, the experience of\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/men-can-tell-when-women-are-aroused\">arousal comes with a certain scent<\/a>\u2014and it&#8217;s one that other people might be able to pick up. A study published in the\u00a0<em>Archives of Sexual Behavior<\/em>\u00a0found that men could tell the difference between women who were sexually aroused and women who weren&#8217;t, all just by smelling their sweat.\u00a0&#8220;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. One in 4 women want a good sex life after menopause.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Contrary to what may still be popular belief, plenty of women over 40 continue to care about having a good sex life. A study presented at the 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting of the Normal American Menopause Society found 45% of women believe\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/how-important-is-sex-for-women-over-40\">sex is important early in midlife<\/a>, and 27% of women believe sex continues to be highly important throughout midlife.&#8221;<\/p>\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-26130\" data-postid=\"26130\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-26130 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What a year its been.
