For those who are certain they\u2019re not looking for anything long-term, Bernadette Gea Gea<\/a>, a Sydney-based psychotherapist, said that there are things that can be done to prevent catching feelings from one night stands.<\/p>

\u201cThey can be clear about their intentions and be upfront and honest. Away from that, they\u2019re not responsible for the other person\u2019s follow-up reaction and behavior,\u201d Gea Gea said.<\/p>

Those who have surprisingly found themselves getting emotional would do well to acknowledge those feelings honestly, allow them to exist, then let them go.<\/p>

\u201cWe can catch feelings, but we don\u2019t actually have to hold onto them. It\u2019s possible to let them come, stay for a while, and pass.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

So essentially, you need to meditate on your single-hood, and remember that while feelings come, they’re temporary – so don’t let them control you! <\/p>\n\n
