Well, it&#8217;s short for consensual non-consent, although that might not clear it up much more. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vice.com\/en\/article\/m7vyk4\/consensual-non-consent-meaning\">Here&#8217;s more from VICE:<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>The CNC\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vice.com\/en\/topic\/kink\">kink<\/a>, also known as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vice.com\/en\/article\/vv55ed\/ask-a-hooker-why-do-i-have-extreme-rape-fantasies\">rape play<\/a>, is exactly that \u2014 one where two or more people agree to a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vice.com\/en\/topic\/sex\">sexual encounter<\/a>\u00a0that emulates rape.<\/p><p>Those who practice CNC enjoy different aspects of it, and know it\u2019s not just about physical violence \u2013 though that does play a big part in the pleasure of it. It\u2019s about surrendering control for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vice.com\/en\/article\/7bdzgy\/this-is-what-its-like-to-be-a-professional-bdsm-submissive-345\">submissive partner<\/a>\u00a0and exerting control for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vice.com\/en\/article\/avae8z\/what-its-like-being-a-professional-male-dom-for-women\">dominant party<\/a>, and for both it\u2019s about indulging in something they wouldn\u2019t want to be involved in if they didn\u2019t have a say over the matter.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>So, what are the rules to make sure this practice never crosses the line into actual assault? Here&#8217;s what one participant says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Mark stressed the need for both parties to cooperate when it comes to their expectations and agreeing not to engage in non-consensual sexual activity that wasn\u2019t negotiated beforehand. Strict boundaries, he says, are imposed through verbal and non-verbal safe words (like holding up a finger or tapping once to slow down and twice to stop entirely), though he feels that concentrating solely on that whitewashes the experience. \u201cThe point of CNC is a way to have those real feelings in a way that is conscious, intentional, and risk aware.
