There are a plenty of reasons you might hit the BLOCK button on a profile – someone keeps messaging you when you’re not interested, you’ve hooked up and it didn’t go great, or worst of all\u2013 it’s your ex. One of the biggest red flags that Young said should immediately earn a potential suitor a block is if they\u2019re lying about their age.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/div>

\u201cMen lie about their age because they want to meet younger women \u2014 and they don\u2019t want to get disqualified,\u201d she told us.<\/p><\/div>

That doesn\u2019t bode well for a burgeoning relationship.<\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>

\u201cIt\u2019s not just a lie, it\u2019s a boundary violation,\u201d Young said. \u201cBecause now, you know, let\u2019s say there\u2019s a woman who\u2019s … 30 years old and she\u2019s set her age parameters from 29 to 39. The 49-year-old guy who comes in lying is not only lying to her, but has already decided that it\u2019s OK to violate that boundary, which she has clearly articulated. So if the first two things that have happened in this budding relationship are lying and a boundary violation, that\u2019s not great.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>
