I’ve been looking to find something, ANYTHING<\/em>, about the ALCS playoff games that is even vaguely<\/em> interesting to write about, but unfortunately, the fact of the matter is that un<\/p>\n

til the World Series, baseball is just straight bo-ring. <\/em><\/p>\n

Until today, that is, when like a gift from the heavens I received word that some delusional freak from New York, Grim Lerogue (not at all a creepy name, obvs) jumped the wall at the Yankees – Texans game on Monday and sprinted towards third base, hoping to choke Alex Rodriguez to death in order to win the heart of Cameron Diaz, who ARod is currently dating. According to police reports, Lerogue had a picture of ARod in his pocket with the face scratched out, a gun drawn next to his head, and the very Sopranos-y quote, “You gotta go, buddy.”<\/p>\n

Uh, sure.<\/p>\n

Am I think only one who thinks this is some ploy by the Yankees to drum up publicity for a game that, to the majority of America, is just a time killer until Sunday football? Can’t you totally see Joe Girardi sitting around a table with some PR folk being like,<\/p>\n

“Okay okay okay, hear me out: this guy, let’s call him Creepy Coluzzo- NO! Grim Larogue! Yeah… yeah, that’s good! So okay then – he totally wants to kill ARod cause um… cause you know… he’s in love with Cameron Diaz! YEAH! This is good sh*t. Okay but he won’t have any weapons cause that’ll just get messy, but … uh, we’ll put a photo of ARod in his pocket with his face all crossed out and a gun to his head and a threatening message like maybe, “You gotta go, buddy.” HOT DAMN our ratings are gonna soar! <\/em>MEETING ADJOURNED<\/strong>.”<\/strong>
